Life-Long Friendships & Community-Wide Impact.

Discover how youth mentorship is at the heart of positive change, nurturing individuals and strengthening the bonds that hold our community together.

“Every child who ends up doing well has had at least one stable and committed relationship with a supportive adult.”

-The Science of Resilience, Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University

Why Youth Mentoring?

Did you know that 22% of children in the United States live with one or more mental, emotional, or behavioral condition? This statistic is what inspired the founders of FORGE to take action. These young individuals face unique challenges that can significantly impact their well-being and future prospects. Through mentoring, Forge offers a lifeline, providing a compassionate and supportive relationship that can help these youth navigate life’s complexities with resilience and confidence. Our mentors serve as trusted allies, offering guidance, understanding, and a listening ear, ultimately fostering mental health and well-being in the next generation.

Empowering Youth: A Closer Look at FORGE’s Youth Mentoring Process

Mentors and mentees fill out applications and meet with our Chapter Directors to learn more about the program.

Mentors are given various trainings from safety information to workshops on asking questions and active listening.

Applications are processed and a match is made based on common interests, life experiences, and other factors.

The match meets weekly, for one hour doing activities of their choice, forming a connection and building a lifelong friendship.

As both parties guide and inspire each other, they become active participants in the community’s growth and development, and their own.
