Youth Mentoring in Phoenix, AZ

Forge Youth Mentoring strives to connect generations to restore hope in our communities and to help young people discover and pursue their full potential. We do this by bringing two worlds together through the power of mentorship. Adult mentors have the opportunity to learn from and pour into young people who desperately need their support. Through mentoring, youth are able to overcome adversity to pursue their dreams, goals, and passions.

Dave Hauser

Chapter Director for Phoenix, Arizona

As a Pacific NW native, I was born in Spokane, WA, and raised in Oregon. I am the youngest of six and my father was a pastor. As a result, I spent most of my youth in and around churches. I graduated from Oregon State University and became a high school math teacher. I also coached basketball for 15 years. In June 2022, I retired from Canby High School in Canby, OR after 33 years as a math teacher. Weeks after retirement, my wife, our youngest son, and I moved to Goodyear, Arizona, and I started working for FORGE in September 2022. My wife, a former elementary school educator, and I have been married for over 30 years. We have two adult sons. The oldest currently works at Grand Canyon University, and the youngest is a recent GCU grad who currently works for Daktronics. I enjoy spending time with my family whether it be a restaurant or home-cooked meal, a swim in the pool, a bike ride, or a multiple-day trip together. My favorite activities are hiking, biking, camping, and playing or watching basketball and baseball games. I also enjoy volunteering with service projects and participating in church activities. It has been exciting to begin to build a Forge chapter here in Arizona. God has brought some amazing people to our team that have a passion for helping kids.
