Youth Mentoring In Mid-Columbia Basin

Youth Mentoring in the Mid-Columbia Basin

Forge Youth Mentoring strives to connect generations to restore hope in our communities and to help young people discover and pursue their full potential.

We do this by bringing two worlds together through the power of mentorship. Adult mentors have the opportunity to learn from and pour into young people who desperately need their support. Through mentoring, youth are able to overcome adversity to pursue their dreams, goals, and passions.

Armando Ramirez

Mid-Columbia Basin Executive Director

Armando experienced a very difficult childhood, but thanks to two mentors coming into his life, he began to realize that he was worthy of love and that he could achieve great things. Through the years he has used those experiences and lessons, as well as his leadership and translation skills, to help many people. Armando began volunteering for FORGE in 2019 and joined our staff a year later. His strengths and passion have helped develop every aspect of the program, including recruitment, mentor and volunteer training, and connection to Spanish speaking populations.

Bringing the Community Together

FORGE Youth Mentoring of the Mid-Columbia Basin serves young people of Kennewick, Pasco, Richland (in WA), and Hermiston, Umatilla, Irrigon, Boardman, and Pendleton (OR), as well as their surrounding areas. Overall, FORGE serves in 4 states, coming alongside families in Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, and Arizona.

Do you know of a city that could use mentoring services? FORGE will continue to expand throughout the nation with help of volunteers and community partners, such as local churches, school districts, and other youth-serving organizations.

Real Mentors for Real Life

Our mentors are everyday people who have faced challenges, learned from them, and want to pass on their wisdom to the next generation.
